Guru Nanak - Viaktitav Te Chintan

Description In this book, the authors have dwelt upon the personality of Guru Nanak and his concept and vision of God, his revolutionary ideals for bringing about political and social transformation and the artistic and aesthetic aspects of Guru Nanak's verses. The authors have adopted a logical and scientific approach while analyzing Guru Nanak's ideals and presented Guru Nanak as a modern thinker, ideologue and farsighted visionary. Rather than portraying Guru Nanak as a Divine prophet, the authors have projected him as a champion of moral, human values and his stress upon truthful living and good conduct. Rather than relying upon the Janamsakhis which project Guru Nanak as a prophet capable of performing miracles, the authors have analysed Guru Nanak's life and mission from a humanitarian point of view and projected him as a leading light among the intellectuals and thinkers of his time. Their expression, diction and stance of projecting their views appeals to the modern sensibility. In this respect, this book is different from the plenty of rem-of-the mill books written on Guru Nanak by the devout followers of Guru Nanak.[edit]
