Description This postgraduate level research dissertation deals with the causes and consequences reading to the famous Jaito Morcha in Punjab in the early decades of both centuries. This agitation caused, partly lug deposition of Maharaja of Nabha and partly by British disruption of Akhand Path, led to the victory of the Sikh after a protracted agitation. The scholar has given the history of earlier Sikh movements which created an environment of confrontation between the ruling British and the Sikhs.
