Maharaja Kharak Singh and Kanwar Nounihal Singh
|
Description |
When a Colossus falls, pigmies and dwarfs fail to make an equal substitute. This fact is borne out by the period of Sikh history following the demise of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. His two successive successors Maharaja Kharak Singh and Kanwar Naunihal Singh were no match for their royal patriarch. This M. Phil dissertation makes a comparative study of Kharak Singh and Naunihal Singh, the father-son duo as state rulers. The son proved to be a letter ruler than his father though his rule was very short. The role of dubious Dogra brothers, the chief courtiers has also been highlighted. The thesis is well-researched and well documented[edit]
