The Sovereignty of the Sikh Doctrine

Description This is a systematic study of Sikh doctrine, Sikh metaphysics, ethics and praxis, theology its practices. It also brings out the distinctive features of Sikh religion and identity vis-a-vis the other contemporary religions and their practitioners. He puts forth the thesis that although Sikhs are slowly trying to become an integral part of Indian National mainstream and corporate life, their distinctiveness as a religious group needs to recognized. This recognition can bring about a harmonious integration of the Sikhs with the Indian mainstream in the modern democratic, secular setup. The author's knowledge and interpretation of Sikh theology and doctrine is masterly and his thesis is thought-proving and worth serious consideration both by the people of India as well as the Sikhs themselves. The contours of Sikh doctrine and their relevance in the modern religious milieu become clear after the study of this book. It is a breath of fresh air in the intellectual and philosophical arena.[edit]
