Nonviolence of any kind is the central care of Jainism. The picture of a cow and lion eating together shown on the title page symbolizes the message of love and nonviolence. The book provides a bird's eye view of the Jain teachings to the lay readers which consists of instituted sympathy and compassion for the distressed and tolerance towards the perversely inclined.
