This report lists the communal discord between the Hindus and the Sikhs during the 1990s. Tracing its origin, it records the Hindu community's denial of Punjabi language as their mother tongue under the influence of Arya Samaj, and RSS ideologues as well as the articles published in the Hindu vernacular papers inflaming communal passions. The report regrets this intentionally created communal discord despite the existence of deepest socio-cultural links between the two communities. The report is incomplete and calls for a more through probe into the other reasons for this communal divide. The report is unbiased and objective[edit]
