Akali Lehar De Mahan Neta

Description Akali Movement (Lehar) andGurdwara Reforms Movement of the 1920s are synonymous. Apart from being a Sikh movement for the liberation of Sikh shrines from the control of Udassi Mahants supported by the British Government, Akali Movement was also an integral part of India's Movement for Independence. Akali and Congressmen worked in tandem. The book portrays lives and contribution of prominent Akali leaders and stalwarts of Akali Movement. The author, being a contemporary of Akali leaders, has given an authentic description of these Akali stalwarts. Some of the prominent among the Akali leaders were Baba Kharak Singh, S.B. Mehtab Singh, Sewa Singh Thikriwala, Kartar Singh Jhabbar, Master Tara Singh, Udham Singh Nagoke, Darshan Singh Pheruman, Ishar Singh Majhail etc. This book is a fine portrait gallery of veteran Akali leaders.[edit]
