The Indian Quartely Register

Description It records political developments, British government's official announcements, reports of various British appointed Indian statutory commissions, and various provincial Legislative assemblies and councils, and reports about the various meetings and conferences of the Indian National Congress held during the July-December 1929. Prominent political events include Lahore Conspiracy case and the Gohmuri strike. Official announcements include Viceroy's Historic announcement of October 31, 1929 and Simon Commission reports. Besides recording a large number of Bills and Acts passed by many legislative Assemblies, the journal records several political resolutions adopted by All India Congress Committee. It is a sort of official gazette of the British Government for July-December 1929. [edit]
