Title Master Tara Singh : A Political Profile
Description The Veteran Akali leader Master Tara Singh was a zealous Sikh, preacher, teacher, committed crusader for the Sikh cause and a to proteh political leader of the Sikhs. He dominated and channelized Sikh polities for about five decades from 1920s to 1967. He led almost half a dozen Sikh political movements and underwent imprisonment for several years. He remained committed and steadfast to safeguard the Sikh interests till his last breath. He had a mass appeal among the Sikhs. He faded from the political horizon of Punjab and the Sikhs after the creation of Punjabi Suba in 1966. The present dissertation traces the political profile of Master Tara Singh and his contribution to the Sikh Panth. The thesis, though well-planned and well-documented, lacks in proper evaluation of Master Tara Singh's political career
