This volume contains a biographical account and literature written by Sodhi Meharvan, who was one of the descendants of Guru Ramdas in the 17th century. He is a prominent writer of his times and his written a significant body of literature including a "Granth", prose writings, poems, a Punjabi dictionary and Guru Nanak's biography known as "Janamsakhi". But his compositions did not find a place in the sacred Guru Granth Sahib, his compositions project a personality cult apart from his biography of Guru Nanak and other Indian saints. The author's account of this descendent is informative, critical and objective. |
