Title Government of India White Paper on Hyderabad
Description The term "White Paper" stands for a governmental, official version of some particular historical event of national dimension. Being an official, version, it is quite often a one-sided version. This white paper gives an official version of the takeover of the princely state of Hyderabad from its royal ruler, the Nizam, through military action and its merger with the Republic of India, soon after India's independence in 1947. It records the major stages and events which led to the takeover of this princely state. It was a painful transfer of power from the Nizam to the Union of India.
